Cum On Feel The Noize

by Barton Bishop

Theater

Tire-deprived cars splayed out on concrete blocks littering lawns in need of mowing. AC/DC and Ratt t-shirts, the sleeves of which must be ripped before the shirts can be worn with dignity. Angry mutters carrying talk of auto plants and every kind of mill slamming closed their doors, blame that bastard Regan if you please.

Down Under Over Here

by Courtney Baron

Theater

Last year when Brooklynite and Artistic Director of the Production Company Mark Armstrong, called me and asked me if I wanted to write a short play about Australia for the first annual Australia Project: I had a flashback. Suddenly it was 1981. I saw myself sitting on my living room floor ogling the centerfold-esque layout of Olivia Newton John’s Let’s Get Physical album (yes, vinyl).

In Dialogue

Lesbian Pulp Fiction: The Beebo Brinker Chronicles

by Kia Corthron

Theater

Ann Bannon, dubbed the “Queen of Lesbian Pulp Fiction,” began writing her first novel at twenty-two, a newlywed suburban homemaker fresh out of college. Two years later the book, Odd Girl Out, was published by Gold Medal Press.

Excerpt from The Beebo Brinker Chronicles

by Kate M. Ryan and Linda S. Chapman

Theater

“I’m no man. I’m sure as hell no woman either.”
