About the Author

Roberto Tejada founded the journa l Mandorla: New Writing from the Americas, a forum for advanced poetry and translation, now in its ninth issue. His work has been widely published in the United States and Latin America, including Vuelta (Octavio Paz, publisher), The Best American Poetry 1996 (Adrienne Rich, editor), and 99 Poets | 1999: An International Poetics Symposium (boundary 2, Charles Bernstein, editor). He teaches Art History, Theory, and Criticism at the University of California, San Diego, where he is faculty in the Visual Arts Department. His book, Mirrors for Gold, is forthcoming at the end of 2006 from Krupskaya Books.
